I have always been fascinated by the workings of the human body, which led me to study for a degree in Neuroscience at Cambridge University, gaining a Double First MA (Hons), before going to the University of Surrey, where I gained distinction in my MSc Chiropractic degree. I have been practicing for 9 years, the first two of which were in a long established clinic in Godalming, Surrey, before I set up Wetherby Chiropractic seven years ago. I am a member of the British Chiropractic Association, and am registered with the General Chiropractic Council.
What drives me professionally is improving people’s quality of life by aiming to reduce their pain levels and improve their functionality without the use of drugs or surgical intervention.
Going forwards, having recently become a mum, and undergone training in treating expectant mothers and babies, I am keen to expand my practice in that area.
One of the highlights of my career to date was treating a horse trainer and jockey who had suffered with chronic neck pain for decades, after a particularly nasty fall off a horse. Having been treated by specialists located over the length and breadth of the country, she sought treatment from me. After a number of weeks, she proclaimed that her pain levels were significantly reduced, her range of motion improved, and her ability to do the thing she loved most in life- riding horses- enhanced significantly.
Out of the clinic, I’m a keen golfer (of the weekend warrior ilk!), and long distance walker, so appreciate the toll that exercise can take on our bodies as we age!
I have a genuine warm, kind, caring approach, coupled with a background of academic rigour. Unlike some chiropractors, who treat patients in 10 to 15 minute slots, I have always given my patients 30 minute treatments, as I feel that is the time I require to do a comprehensive treatment. Moreover, I don’t believe in pre-booking patients into a ‘block’ of treatments, preferring to take one treatment at a time.
