Natisha has been teaching Pilates for 12 years now. She discovered Pilates through her Dance background doing her very first class at a summer course at the Laban centre in London, and from then on she was hooked. Natisha did her initial training with Michael King’s Pilates Institute in London, and has since then continued training with other leading Fitness Industry professionals such as Cherry Baker and more recently with Alan Menezes, founder of the Pilates Institute of Australia and the Menezes method.
She is passionate about Pilates because it keeps your muscles and tendons strong and supple, really supporting your skeletal frame and guarding against future weakness or injury as well as helping overcome previous trauma. One of the main advantages is it can be adapted to to suit any fitness level from top athletes to the busy once a weeker.
Natisha particularly enjoys the challenge of helping clients improve their fitness and well-being, she strongly believe that exercise like Pilates helps us have a positive mental outlook. Going forwards she is interested in increasing her knowledge of remedial Pilates as well as developing specific exercises to help dance students improve their technique.
She can make no claims of performing miracles, but what is so rewarding about her work is that every week clients tell her how it has eased a sore neck, helped with pain in their shoulders, back or hip, or that they have really missed their class after only a short break and feel so much better when they resume class.
She believes her background in Dance and other related Fitness training gives her a broader view of how the body works and how to improve strength, flexibility and vitality through correct body posture, alignment and use of breath.
As well as teaching Pilates, Natisha also runs her own dance school ‘The Ballet & Spanish Dance Academy”. She enjoys Dinghy sailing at the weekends and being out in our beautiful countryside either walking or mountain biking. She also loves her garden and enjoys the thrill of growing and picking her own vegetables, although she is definitely no Monty Donn!

“Whilst offering different degrees of difficulty, allowing everyone to work at their own level, Tisha is aware of our ability and encourages you to do more.” – Penny Wood, Bardsey
“Classes are demanding but fun. Tisha leads by example and is a great role model.” – Penny Wood, Bardsey
“My main reason for starting pilates classes with Tisha, about 3 years ago, was because of repeated problems with lower back pain. The back pain is now a thing of the past, as long as I remember to do the core exercises when I miss a class for any reason. The other reason why I continue to go is that Tisha makes it fun even for an inflexible, sports damaged old codger like me, and I am sure I am taller than I was 3 years ago!” – Ed Stentiford, Bardsey
“Truly amazing! it has worked wonders for my joints, muscle tone and posture” – Mark Dickson, Leeds
“Thanks Tisha for class last night, Pilates is amazing! My shoulder is a lot better this morning” – Tracey Jakeman-Johnson, Bardsey
“I would like to forward a personal recommendation for my Pilates coach Tisha. I do have problems with my hips and the coaching with Tisha over a period of time has been extremely beneficial to my overall core strength. I have been really impressed and fully satisfied with the personal care she has given to myself and other members of the class.” – Linda Maude, Collingham
