Therapeutic massage is the manipulation of the soft tissues and muscles using different techniques and pressure. It can be used for relaxation, stimulation and rehabilitation of the whole body or part of it. It promotes the suppleness and flexibility of the muscles, greatly improves circulation and helps to calm and de-stress the body and mind.
If undertaken on a regular basis, it may help the following:
o Relieving tension headaches and migraines
o Reducing stress reactions and promoting a deep sense of relaxation
o Easing muscular tension and tightness
o Improving muscle tone and flexibility
o Increasing joint mobility
o Improving postural deformity
o Increasing circulation & warming cold extremities such as hands and feet
o Aiding lymphatic drainage
o Reducing swelling/medical oedema
o Helping to decongest & drain the nasal passages and sinuses
o Speeding skin cell renewal & improving skin colour, tone and texture
o Stimulating digestion and peristalsis, helping with constipation and flatulence
A range of therapeutic massage treatments are available, ranging from a back, neck and shoulder massage to a full head to toe body massage with treatment times varying between 30 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes. Please allow an additional 15 minutes for the first treatment for the initial consultation.
