Sports massage uses a combination of vigourous massage, to release tight muscles and targeted techniques, to work on specific areas, that can ease pain and encourage the tissues to repair or recover.
Sports massage is used to treat muscle and other soft tissue that has become tight, over used or injured through sporting activity or just through everyday activities.
Sports massage can be used in a number of ways; to aid performance as part of a regular training programme or as a pre or post event treatment, to help prevent injury and to aid recovery from an injury.
Treatment times can be 45 mins, 1 hour or 1 hour 30 mins depending on the part of the body being treated and the specific requirements. The first treatment will be slightly longer to incorporate an initial consultation.
