I have practiced as a qualified clinical psychologist in the NHS for over 10 years and continue to do so on a part time basis. I have worked primarily with adults and young people, providing therapy for difficulties including depression, anxiety, OCD, abuse, addiction and trauma. I have also specialised in working with young people experiencing psychosis. I can help with complex longstanding difficulties as well as more ‘here and now’ problems. I believe that successful therapy depends on developing a safe and trusting relationship along with providing interventions to best suit the individual and their needs.
I use many different evidence based approaches to tailor therapy to the individual including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness approaches, and Motivational Interviewing.
I have experience of working with individuals, families and groups. I provide training and supervision to other mental health professionals including clinical psychologists. I deliver training on the Leeds clinical psychology doctorate training course.
Seeking help for personal problems can be a daunting and complicated. I aim to provide an accessible, compassionate and thoughtful approach.
If you would like to find out more about whether you could benefit from assessment, consultation or therapy, please contact me by phone. If appropriate we can then arrange to meet for an assessment appointment where you will be able to talk about your difficulties in more detail and find out how psychological therapy could help you.
